Nadia Bechirian-Tiseo began her career after
completing her Fine Arts degree at Concordia
University in Montreal, QC. Since then she has been
creating art across all channels of visual
communication. Her academic training, versatility in
the Old Masters techniques and her ability to
combine a variety of contemporary mediums allows
her to express herself freely in her artwork.
Her paintings are executed in a purely intuitive process.
They begin without any preliminary sketches on a bare
canvas where fields of color, structure, and surface
effects are used to surpass two-dimensionality. These
surface effects are further enhanced by the multiple layering of
transparent colors; superimposed, they solicit new impressions
with every change of light or angle of view. With skillful
and complex methodology Nadia always tackles her paintings with
an intellectual vigor suffused with the vitality and
power of nature, which seems to be her underlying narrative.
When asked if her creative process is one of improvisation or
calculated planning, the Artist quotes Paul Klee:
"Art doesn’t reflect the visible. Art makes visible."
Nadia’s artworks can be seen in galleries and private
collections across Canada, and USA.
