N
adia Bechirian-Tiseo began her career after completing her Fine Arts
degree at Concordia University in Montreal, QC. Since then she has been
creating art across all channels of visual communication. She earned a
living for the following years in the image and design industry and
raising a family. In 2004, she decided to dedicate herself exclusively
to her art making, and began her second career as a painter. She
immediately emerged to participate in nationally acclaimed group shows,
featured in solo exhibitions in several galleries, and won numerous
awards. Her artwork is now part of private collections in Canada and
in the USA.
Her academic training, versatility in the Old
Masters techniques and her ability to combine a variety of contemporary
mediums allows her to express herself freely in her artwork. The
content or narrative of her works is a reflection of her studies
on Memory and Perception. Her process is intuitive, abstract and
ethereal just like writing music. Beyond the initial seduction of
the viewer’s senses, the core of every painting remains an elaborate
document on the subject of perception.
Her style is unique,
intricate in design, highly textured, and holds a subtle sense of humour.
The themes elaborated in her series dictates the choice of mediums she
uses; she prefers to use mixed media for her artworks on paper, and
acrylics, oils or encaustic for her painted canvases. She occasionally
makes collages, produces mono prints, and keeps on exploring new ways
of creating images combining technology.
She is an artist
whose artwork exudes joy, celebrates the exuberance of nature, and a
brilliant colorist who creates an art both vigorous and contemplative.
